‘Leda & the Swan’ Porcelain Perfume Bottle

A beautifully unusual mid-century porcelain perfume bottle by Royal Copenhagen, decorated in raised relief with a female figure and swan, recalling the classical story of Leda and the Swan. Softly modelled foliage surrounds the figure, while the swan appears on the reverse.

The monochrome white porcelain gives the decoration an almost sculptural quality, with the relief revealing itself as the light moves across the surface. Finished with its porcelain stopper and contrasting black tassel, it is a wonderfully romantic example of Royal Copenhagen’s more figurative mid-century work.

Beautiful displayed on a vanity or bedside table, or simply as a decorative object in its own right.

Condition: Excellent condition with minimal signs of wear.
